Installation Instructions: Black Horse Off Road Transporter Running Board TR-D13596

Fits:

  • 2014-2025 Ram ProMaster 1500, 2500, and 3500 (136″ & 159″ Wheelbase, High Roof Cargo Van)

Tools Needed:

  • Socket set
  • Ratchet wrench
  • Drill with 5/16″ drill bit (for support bracket attachment)
  • Tape measure
  • Marker or center punch
  • Safety glasses

Installation Steps:

  1. Preparation:
    • Remove all contents from the box and verify all parts and hardware are included.
    • Park the van on a flat surface and ensure the vehicle is secure.
  2. Driver Side Installation:
    • Locate factory holes in the inner body panel along the driver side. If covered with rubber plugs or sealant, remove them.
    • Insert the 8mm bolt plate with a plastic retainer into the factory hole to secure it in place.
    • Attach the driver side front mounting bracket to the bolt plate using 8mm hardware (flat washer, lock washer, hex nut). Keep hardware loose.
  3. Support Bracket Installation:
    • Install the unique driver side front support bracket to the front mounting bracket using the included hardware (8mm x 25mm bolt, washers, nylon lock nut).
    • Align the top of the support bracket with the vehicle’s pinch weld, but do not tighten completely.
  4. Rear Mounting Bracket:
    • Locate the factory hole in the floor panel for the rear bracket.
    • Insert the bolt plate and attach the rear mounting bracket using 8mm hardware.
    • Secure the rear support bracket to the rear mounting bracket using the provided bolts, washers, and nuts.
  5. Running Board Installation:
    • Insert the 6mm T-bolt plates into the tracks on the bottom of the running board.
    • Place the running board onto the brackets, guiding the studs through the bracket slots.
    • Use 6mm flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts to loosely secure the running board.
  6. Adjust and Drill Support Brackets:
    • Level and adjust the running board position.
    • Mark the pinch weld locations for the support bracket slots using a marker.
    • Remove the running board and brackets temporarily.
    • Drill two 5/16” holes at the marked locations (avoid drilling through the welds).
  7. Secure Support Brackets:
    • Reattach the support brackets to the pinch weld using 8mm x 25mm bolts, washers, and nylon lock nuts.
    • Reinstall the running board and ensure it is level.
  8. Final Tightening:
    • Tighten all hardware securely, including bracket bolts and running board mounting hardware.
  9. Passenger Side Installation:
    • Repeat steps 2 through 8 for the passenger side using the same process.

Tips & Recommendations:

  • Professional installation recommended for first-time installers.
  • Periodically inspect all hardware to ensure it remains tight.
  • Wax the running board after installation to protect the finish.
