The suspension systems we provide unlock the potential for larger tire sizes and a more aggressive stance, improving handling and stability. Choosing the right wheels is essential for achieving the desired look and ensuring proper tire fitment. To assist with your decision, we’ve created guides to help you make informed choices.

Offset, Backspacing, and Spacers Explained

When selecting wheels, understanding offset, backspacing, and spacers is crucial to ensure proper fitment:

  • Backspacing: This measures the distance from the wheel’s mounting surface to the inner edge. It affects clearance with suspension components. A smaller backspacing number moves the mounting surface closer to the inside edge, offering a ‘deeper’ look and more clearance for larger tires.
  • Offset: This measures the distance from the mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. Positive offset moves the mounting surface outward (toward the wheel face), while negative offset moves it inward for a deeper look.
  • Wheel Spacers: These help create more clearance by reducing backspacing or positive offset, making it easier to fit larger tires or improve tire-to-strut clearance.

Tire Fitment Guides

VS30 Sprinter (2019-Present)

  • Sprinter 2500 4×4 and 2WD: 17″ x 8″, +45mm offset, 6.27″ backspacing
  • Sprinter 2500 AWD: 17″ x 8″, +38mm offset, 6″ backspacing
  • Sprinter 3500 (All drive types): Stock

Notes:

  • Wheels with 6.5″ backspacing or +52mm offset on an 8″ wheel require at least a 14mm spacer to prevent tire contact with auxiliary shocks at full steering angle (e.g., Black Rhino Warlord, Method 701).
  • Maximum tire size for Adaptive Cruise Control and Adaptive Brake Assist retention is 32.2″ diameter. Recommended max tire size: 275/75R17 (applies to 4×4 models only; AWD can exceed this size).

Ford Transit (2015-Present)

  • Transit RWD (Single Rear Wheel): 17″ x 8″, +45mm offset, 6.27″ backspacing
  • Transit AWD (Single Rear Wheel): 16″ x 6.5″, +90mm offset, 7.29″ backspacing
  • Transit (Dual Rear Wheel): Stock

Note: 3/16″ wheel spacers are only recommended for the front axle and should only be used with stock wheels.

NCV3 Sprinter (2007-2018)

  • Sprinter 2500 4×4 and 2WD: 17″ x 8″, +45mm offset
  • Sprinter 3500 (All drive types): Stock

Note: Wheels with 6.5″ backspacing or +52mm offset on an 8″ wheel may require a spacer to avoid tire contact with auxiliary shock reservoirs at full steering angle.

T1N Sprinter (1994-2006)

When selecting wheels and tires, always consider the load rating of both. Never exceed the manufacturer’s load rating for wheels or tires, and ensure they match the intended use of your van.
