There are many types of L Track. The one for the floor is different then L Track for the Sides of your vans.

Tools & Materials Needed:

  • L-track system (pre-installed or purchased separately)
  • Wrench or socket set
  • Drill (if L-track is not pre-installed)
  • Measuring tape
  • Marker or pencil
  • Allen wrench (for seat and bed adjustments)
  • Torque wrench (recommended)

Step 1: Prepare Your Work Area

  1. Clear the Area:
    Remove any items or debris from the floor where the L-track will be installed or where the seat will be mounted.
  2. Verify the L-Track System:
    Ensure the L-track system is securely mounted to the van floor and aligned with factory anchor points for maximum strength. If the L-track is not installed, refer to your L-track installation guide to complete that step first.

Step 2: Measure and Mark Placement

  1. Position the Seat Bench:
    Place the folded seat bench in the van to determine the ideal mounting location. Ensure adequate space for both seating and folding into the bed configuration.
  2. Mark Anchor Points:
    Use a measuring tape and marker to align the mounting brackets of the bench with the slots in the L-track. Mark the slots for reference.

Step 3: Attach the Seat Bench to the L-Track

  1. Install L-Track Fittings:
    Insert the provided fittings (studs or bolts) into the L-track slots where you marked the anchor points. Ensure they are secure and properly aligned.
  2. Align the Seat Bench:
    With assistance, position the seat bench over the L-track fittings. Align the mounting brackets of the bench with the fittings.
  3. Secure the Bolts:
    Thread the provided bolts through the mounting brackets and into the L-track fittings. Use a wrench or socket to tighten them, but do not fully torque them yet.
  4. Check Alignment:
    Verify that the bench is straight and properly aligned with the van’s interior before fully tightening the bolts.
  5. Tighten Securely:
    Using a torque wrench, tighten the bolts to the recommended torque specification provided in your kit. This ensures the seat bench is securely mounted.

Step 4: Test the Folding Mechanism

  1. Switch to Bed Configuration:
    Release the locking mechanism on the seat bench and fold it down into the bed position. Ensure it operates smoothly and locks into place when fully extended.
  2. Switch Back to Seat Configuration:
    Fold the bed back into the seat position and confirm that it securely locks into place.
  3. Adjust as Needed:
    If the mechanism feels stiff or misaligned, adjust the mounting points slightly and retest.

Step 5: Final Safety Check

  1. Inspect All Connections:
    Verify that all bolts are fully tightened and the bench is firmly secured to the L-track.
  2. Test Stability:
    Sit on the bench and apply weight to confirm it remains stable. Transition between the seat and bed configurations several times to ensure consistent performance.

Optional Accessories:

  • Seat Belts: Install seat belts as per your van’s safety requirements. Ensure they are securely attached to the appropriate anchor points.
  • Mattress Pads: For added comfort, consider adding a mattress pad when the bench is in the bed configuration.
